Reaktor Virtual MusicianTutorial

Ever wondered what tunes your computer would come up with on its own?

Part 1

Here is a tutorial to make a Virtual Musicianwith Reaktor 5.

We will add this to the Synth you made in the last tutorial

you can also add this to any synth on reaktor by replacing the 'pitch' and 'gate' controls

1. Open the Synth from the last tutorial

(save as a different name)

2. Create a new Macro and call it 'musician'

Macro > _NEW - Empty

3. Open the structure of the new Macro

4. Create a 'Slow Random LFO' and a '6 Step Sequencer'

5. Rename the 'Sequencer' to 'Gate Sequencer'

6. Create a 'Control' for the 'F' Input on the 'LFO'

7. Create a 'Constant' of '1' and Connect it to the 'A' Input of the 'LFO'

8. Connect the 'Output' from the 'LFO' to the 'Step' (S1 to S6) Inputs of the 'Sequencer'

9 Create a 'Sync Clock' and Connect it to the 'Clk' Input of the 'Sequencer'

10. Create a 'Button', call it 'reset' and Connect it to the 'Rst' Input of the 'Sequencer'

11. Create a 'Send' and call it 'G', Connect the Output of the 'Sequencer' to it

Built-in Module > Sequencer > 6-Step Built-in Module > LFO, Envelope > Slow Random Built-in Module > MIDI In > Sync Clock Built-in Module > Terminal > Send

You have just made the 'Gate' section of the Virtual Musician.

You can use this as it is to randomly trigger drum hits for example.

In the Next part we will build the Pitch section.
